Branches and tree trunks stuck in the main drain near Kampar Park.

By Aida Aziz

IPOH: Plants thriving in the drain, compounded by branches and tree trunks stuck in the middle of it in Kampar Park, here, not only mars the scenery but also poses serious implications if heavy rain occurs, potentially causing flash floods.

Additionally, there’s the risk of Aedes mosquitoes breeding in the area.

According to a resident, the authorities, particularly the local council (PBT) or the appointed contractor, need to monitor this issue.

He emphasized that the area is located near Pinji Centre Point and opposite Perodua Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun.

“The branches and tree trunks are stuck in the middle of the box culvert.

“If these branches and tree trunks are not cleared promptly, it could block the drain’s water flow.

“It risks causing flash floods, especially during heavy rain.

Authorities, please monitor and take this matter seriously,” he said.

It is hoped that this problem will be resolved quickly to ensure the well-being of residents and to maintain the image of Ipoh city.
