Suraya, Herlyny brought honor to Kolej Komuniti Batu Gajah in skills competition

IPOH: Two students from Kolej Komuniti Batu Gajah achieved double success by winning first and second place in the Politeknik and Kolej Komuniti Malaysia Skills Competition 2024 (POLYCCSKILLS) in the Fashion Technology category.
Intan Suraya Zulkipli, 20, won the gold medal while her colleague, Siti Herlyny Allieya Hasmarizan, 19, won the silver medal.
Third place went to a participant from Kolej Komuniti Pasir Gudang, Johor, Fadhilah Yana Rusdi.
A total of 19 participants from all branches of Kolej Komuniti Malaysia took part in the competition to test students’ skills in their respective fields of study.
In this competition, all participants had to complete two assigned tasks: technical drawing and pattern design.
They had to complete a dress within a set time frame before their work was evaluated by the judges.
Intan Suraya, when interviewed, said she did not expect to win because the competition from other participants was tough.
She said that when she found out she was selected to participate in the competition, she and her friend, Siti Herlyny Allieya, practiced tirelessly under the guidance of lecturers to sharpen their skills.
