GOPENG: The Perak State Mobile Shop Programme held in rural areas, helps ordinary people buy daily necessities at lower prices.
The initiative, in collaboration with Yayasan Bina Upaya Darul Ridzuan and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs’ Jualan Rahmah, has successfully benefited the targeted groups.
Recently, the Perak State Mobile Shop Programme was held in Kampung Pulai, Gopeng, where local residents took the opportunity to shop.
Resident Rogayah Sulong said she could save on expenses when purchasing necessities there.
She mentioned that the significant rise in prices is particularly felt by rural residents.
“Shopping here helps save a bit on expenses compared to the market or regular grocery stores.
“If possible, there should be more items available beyond basic necessities,” she added.
For housewife Siti Hasnah Md Hashim, she suggested that the Perak State Mobile Shop Program be held more frequently, at least twice a month.
This would allow local residents to get their necessities and plan their spending.
Meanwhile, Teja State Assembly Member Sandrea Ng attended the program and met with the local community.
“We are grateful for the very positive response from the local community.
We will collaborate with government agencies from time to time to organise programmes that meet the community’s needs,” she said.
