TAIPING: Efforts to enhance attractions in the tourist city of Taiping continue as the city welcomes its first public toilet based on the clean, attractive, and fragrant (BMW) concept, donated by a private company.
This beautiful and clean toilet is located at the foot of Bukit Larut, a popular tourist spot here.
The new public toilet is equipped with automatic sensors and is built with environmentally friendly, social, and governance (ESG) materials.
The symbolic inauguration of the toilet was officiated by the Minister of Local Government Development, Nga Kor Ming, during his visit to Taiping yesterday.
Among the private companies involved in the construction of this BMW toilet were Big Bath, Lovely Lace, and Northomos, contributing to the national mission: ‘Clean Malaysia’.
The BMW toilet concept, initiated by the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT), is intended to be implemented by all 155 local authorities across the country.
This toilet concept also serves as a preparation for the Visit Malaysia Year 2025.
During the KPKT’s Sentuhan Kasih visit to Taiping, Kor Ming also announced an allocation of RM17.48 million for the implementation of projects in the city this year, focusing on public infrastructure development.
“The allocation approved by KPKT is a performance-based budget,” he said.
“This is to ensure that KPKT’s services and focus on improving public infrastructure can continue to be enhanced, ensuring that each project not only benefits the community but is also economically viable,” he added.
