Man Dies After Car Crashes into Drain on PLUS Highway

IPOH: A man was killed after the Toyota Corolla he was driving skidded and crashed into a drain at kilometer (km) 265 of the North-South Expressway, southbound, here today.

According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the 40-year-old victim was found beneath the vehicle.

He stated that personnel from the Meru Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the scene at 8:08 a.m.

“It was found that a car had skidded into a drain on the highway, and a man was underneath the vehicle.

The operations chief conducted a size-up, applied the SAVER concept, and directed personnel to carry out the rescue operation.

“The man was pronounced dead by Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) personnel shortly after being extricated,” he said here today.

He added that the victim was subsequently handed over to the police for further action.

The operation, led by PBK II Suhaimi Abd Samad, involved seven personnel and concluded at 9:26 a.m.
