IPOH: A lush tree growing at the roadside near the T-junction between Bandar Cyber and Taman Medan Lapangan Pertama has provided shade and shelter to the area.
While the tree itself poses no issues, some of its overgrown branches are becoming a hazard for drivers.
At times, vehicles traveling in the left lane of this road may brush against the tree’s branches, potentially causing accidents.
Drivers need to be especially cautious when driving in heavy rain due to reduced visibility.
Personal driver Saiful Hizam acknowledged this issue, noting that he once saw a motorcyclist nearly lose control after being closely approached by a car trying to avoid the overhanging branches.
He suggested that it would be better to trim these overgrown branches to prevent any unwanted incidents.
“The tree itself is fine, it’s just the overgrown branches that need trimming.
Lorry driver Syarul Hilmi agreed that trimming some of the branches would be a wise precaution for the safety of road users.
“We never know when an accident might happen, so it’s better to trim these overgrown branches before something happens.
“So far, I’ve often seen cars brushing against the branches. There’s usually no damage, but some cars have gotten scratched by the branches,” he said.
