IPOH: Over 80 media personnel from various agencies were honoured at the Ipoh City Media Awards 2024, held last night at the Ipoh Convention Centre.
This inaugural event was organized to acknowledge the vital role of mass media in supporting the development of Ipoh City. The awards ceremony was jointly organized by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Puncak Emas Infra Sdn. Bhd. (PESB).
A total of eight awards were contested, including Best TV News Report, Best TV Special Report, Best News Report, Best Feature, Best Photographer, Best Videographer, Best Journalist, and a Special Award.
The Best Journalist Award was won by Nor Ain Abu Bakar from RTM, while the Special Award was presented to Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud, Mayor of Ipoh, for his significant contributions in assisting the media in Ipoh.
The event was enlivened by a performance from artists of Hard Rock Cafe Ipoh.
Also present at the event were PESB General Manager, Ir. Saiful Azzuan Aznam; MBI Council Members’ WHIP Leader, Clr. Dato’ Haji Mazlan Abd. Rahman; and MBI Council Member and Chairman of the MBI Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Heritage Subcommittee, Clr. Dato’ Ahmad Hariri Kamarudin.
Among the distinguished guests were the President of the Perak Media Practitioners Association, Sayed Mohd Hesham Syed Idris; the President of the Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club, Rosli Mansor; and senior directors and department heads from MBI and PESB.
The event successfully strengthened the bond with media partners and recognized their contributions to the development of Ipoh City.
