MANJUNG: Due to the rising frequency of crimes involving loan sharks, the police have taken to the field to engage with the community and deliver their message.
The High Profile Policing (HPP) ‘Talk To Us’ program, aimed at preventing illegal loan shark activities and other crimes, was conducted by the Chief of Ayer Tawar Police Station at Ayer Tawar Public Market.
During this program, Inspector Mohd Suhadi Mohd Kia and his team distributed crime prevention brochures to the public.
He also provided explanations on how to quickly report information related to crimes, particularly those involving loan sharks, to the police.
This is because the community acts as the eyes and ears of the police in preventing crimes in the area.
At the same time, this helps to create a safe environment, foster a friendly relationship between the police and the public, and enhance cooperation.
Meanwhile, at another event, Inspector Mohd Suhadi attended Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) to complete the presentation ceremony of police cadet certificates to students.
He also gave a talk on scam-related crimes and the prevention of bullying among school students.
Inspector Mohd Suhadi reminded students to avoid criminal activities, particularly bullying, theft, and involvement in drug abuse.
He also addressed the legal provisions applicable if students commit crimes.
Additionally, Inspector Mohd Suhadi advised and reminded teachers and students not to be deceived by scam crimes.
