IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has made various efforts to address the issue of illegal dumping, including community engagement programs.
MBI has condemned the actions of some Ipoh residents who recklessly discard trash, describing their behavior as lacking concern and love for the city.
Such irresponsible actions tarnish the image of Ipoh residents and undermine MBI’s efforts to promote the ‘Ipoh Bestari Sejahtera’ culture, which is their slogan.
In a statement, MBI announced the introduction of free garden and bulky waste collection services starting in 2021.
Residents can refer to the official MBI portal at www.mbi.gov.my for the schedule of garden and bulky waste collection services.
“Twenty open trucks are dedicated to this service.
“The service runs smoothly and according to the established schedule.
“Ipoh residents who dispose of waste illegally will be fined RM1,000 with no appeal,” said the statement.
MBI has implemented various initiatives to achieve the goal of making Ipoh a clean, safe, and smart city.
In this regard, the community and private sector are urged to play a more active role in supporting this mission.
