Woman killed, car and oil palm trailer crash

LARUT: A 32-year-old woman was killed after the Proton Persona car she was driving collided with a palm oil trailer on Jalan Taiping, Kampung Pondok Tanjong, Selama, on Sunday night.

Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of the Operations Division of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), said the victim was found trapped and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sabarodzi stated that the department received an emergency call at 8:41 PM, and personnel from the Selama Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by Batu Kurau, arrived at the scene 9:14 PM.

“The operation was led by PBK II Mohamad Hafidz Md Rahim and PBK II Nazri Yusof.

“The accident involved a Proton Persona car colliding with a trailer. The car’s driver, a woman, was trapped and was pronounced dead by Malaysian Ministry of Health personnel.

“The operation chief assessed the situation and applied the SAVER concept, then instructed members to carry out the rescue using hydraulic tools.

“The victim was extricated and handed over to the police for further action,” he said last night.

The operation involved 12 personnel and concluded at 10:50 PM.
