BAGAN SERAI: A total of 27 from five families have been relocated to the temporary evacuation center (PPS) at Sekolah Kebangsaan Changkat Lobak following flooding in Kampung Changkat Lobak on Friday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson from the District Disaster Management Committee, the flooding is believed to have been caused by the overflow of the Kerian River, affecting the surrounding areas.
He stated that all evacuees were accommodated at the center, which opened at 6 PM yesterday.
He also noted that this number has slightly increased from 16 from three families reported on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department on Saturday issued a statement indicating that there are no warnings for thunderstorms or continuous rain.
Additionally, the weather forecast for Perak indicates that almost all districts in the state are expected to experience rain in the afternoon.
