Road Closures Around Ipoh for Le Tour de Langkawi on October 1

IPOH: Roads in and around Ipoh city will be closed and diverted to accommodate the Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi 2024 race on October 1.

According to Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, the closures and diversions will begin on Tuesday from 12 PM to 2 PM.

The closures will start from the traffic lights at Infoternak Sungai Siput to the Pahang border (Cameron Highlands) through the Ipoh district.

The roads involved in the phased closures and diversions include:

  1. Jalan Kuala Kangsar (up to Tasek traffic lights)
  2. Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (up to Medan Gopeng traffic lights)
  3. Jalan Sultan Nazrin Shah (up to Simpang Pulai police station traffic lights)
  4. Jalan Keramat Pulai (up to the Pahang state border)

He suggested alternative routes for road users during the event:

1. Jalan Lahat-Simpang Pulai
2. Jalan Sultan Nazrin Shah
3. Jalan Kuala Kangsar
4. North-South Expressway heading towards Kuala Kangsar
5. North-South Expressway heading towards Ipoh

In this regard, he advised road users, especially Ipoh residents, to plan their journeys and choose alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion during the road closures and diversions.
