KUALA KANGSAR: One person was severely injured while two others sustained minor injuries in a road accident involving seven vehicles at Kilometer 257 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) heading north last night.
According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the Assistant Director of the Operations Division of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, the incident occurred around 10:28 PM.
He added that 20 personnel from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station and Meru Raya Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene.
“The accident involved five cars and two motorcycles colliding, affecting a total of eight victims.
“One car, a Myvi driven by a woman, overturned on the roadside, and the driver suffered severe injuries.
“Two other victims on motorcycles sustained minor injuries, while five others in cars and motorcycles were unharmed and safe,” he stated in a statement here today.
He mentioned that the operation chief assessed the situation and subsequently directed the team to assist the Ministry of Health Malaysia in transporting the severely injured victim to the hospital by ambulance.
Additionally, two victims with minor injuries received initial treatment and were transported to the hospital using the EMRS vehicle.
The operation, led by PBK II Sharidzuan Shamsudin, concluded completely at 11:49 PM.
