Heavy Rain: Nine Victims in Kampar Relocated to Relief Center

KAMPAR: Nine individuals from four families have been relocated to a temporary relief center (PPS) due to flooding, following continuous heavy rain last night that affected two villages here.

According to Nazrul Fazami Mohamad, the Chairman of the Kampar District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD), all victims were moved to the PPS at the Dato Azman Mahalan Multipurpose Hall in Kuala Dipang.

He noted that the two affected areas were Kampung Batu 20, Kuala Dipang, and Kampung Pulau Pisang, Malim Nawar.

The relief center was opened at 11 PM last night.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department stated that nearly all districts in Perak are expected to experience rain in the afternoon.

Additionally, the Perak Civil Defence Force (APM) reported that several areas in the Larut Matang and Selama (LMS), Kinta, and Muallim districts also experienced flash floods.

Among the affected areas in LMS include Kampung Temelok, Trong, Kampung Wawasan, Trong, and Kampung Ulu Sepetang, Batu Kurau.

In Kinta, the affected locations include Taman Kinta Mas Bercham, Taman Cempaka, and Kampung Ampang Baru, as well as in Muallim near Taman Sri Tanjong.
