IPOH: The police will no longer impose summons on vehicles parked along the road in front of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here.
Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, stated that yesterday, his team, along with the Chairman of the Human Resources, Health, National Integration, and Indian Community Affairs Committee of Perak, A Sivanesan and the Deputy Director of HRPB Ipoh, Dr. Mustafa Shawal Safian, visited the site on Jalan Raja Ashman Shah to address parking issues.
He explained that the inspection was conducted due to the limited parking space at HRPB and the traffic congestion caused by obstructed pathways from the vehicles parked there.
“Following discussions and after considering the safety of road users and traffic flow, the Ipoh District Police, at their discretion, will not take enforcement action against any vehicles parked along Jalan Raja Ashman Shah in both directions,” he said.
Abang Zainal added that there are some exceptions to this decision.
“”However, this exemption does not apply to vehicles parked in front of bus stops in both directions, which further obstruct traffic towards the traffic lights on Jalan Raja Ashman Shah.
“Vehicles that are double-parked in both directions along Jalan Raja Ashman Shah are also excluded from this leniency.
“Additionally, vehicles parked at the roundabout on Jalan Raja Ashman Shah will be subject to enforcement,” he said.
He urged all road users, especially Ipoh residents, to cooperate with the police and to always comply with traffic laws and regulations.
“This is to ensure the safety of all road users and to maintain smooth traffic flow in this district,” he added.
