IPOH: The Bidadari Kebajikan Club celebrated 50 students and teacher during the Khatam al-Quran ceremony at Maahad Tahfiz al-Quran Wal Qiraat Addin 10 in Manjoi.
The festive event took place on Saturday and included teacher and families of the students.
According to the Chairman of Bidadari Kebajikan, Sharifah Rohayati Syed Hassan, this program marks the sixth time the club has organized such an event.
She stated that Bidadari Kebajikan has 45 members, all of whom are alumni of Sekolah Menengah Rendah Sungei Pari (now SMK Sri Puteri).
“I established this group in 2019, focusing on charitable work and quick fundraising for schoolmates in need.
“After that, we expanded our efforts to help those in financial need.
“This collaboration with the educational center is a continuation of our previous partnership.
“Bidadari Kebajikan recognizes the need to assist those here with food support, such as a food bank.
“At the same time, we want to celebrate the students and educators here, including delivering contributions collected through quick fundraising,” she explained during the event.
Also present were the principal of school, Muhamad Anwar Mohd Sukandar, and teachers Muhd Firdaus Mat Salleh and Muhd Fakarudin Iswandi M. Hazri.
During the event, cash contributions were presented to the students and teachers.
Meanwhile, Muhamad Anwar noted that the collaboration between Bidadari Kebajikan and the educational center has been ongoing since last year.
“Thank you to Bidadari Kebajikan for organizing a fundraising campaign to help the center establish a kitchen for cooking.
“Previously, we relied on catering services, which were quite costly, and having our own kitchen saves money and simplifies the food preparation process,” he said.
Regarding the event, he expressed appreciation to everyone involved.
“Fifty students participated, and thankfully, everything went smoothly and joyfully. We hope this collaboration can continue in the coming years,” he added.
As for Bidadari Kebajikan, one of its activities includes providing assistance to members in need and supporting school infrastructure in Cambodia, among others.
