KAMPAR: Residents of Kampung Sungai Peria can breathe a sigh of relief as the damaged facilities in their village have been repaired by PLUS volunteers.
This corporate social responsibility initiative was carried out in conjunction with the MyPLUS Community Day program.
C1 Section Manager, Amran Mokhtar, said a total of 150 people, including village residents, participated in the program, which also involved a gotong-royong (community work) session.
“Among the activities were the repair of school and mosque facilities, installation of safety signs and directional signs, and the installation of lights.
“In addition to painting the surau (prayer hall) and bridge, we also installed reflector lights near the bridge for the safety of road users, especially the village residents,” he said.
A total of 30 students from Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) were also involved in the program.
According to Amran, PLUS also made improvements to the community hall by installing six ceiling fans and repainting the lines on the multipurpose court.
He added that the team distributed 50 helmets for children, particularly for the village residents.
