Strengthening Connections via Badminton

By KT Leong

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ipoh successfully hosted a Badminton Exchange Event last Saturday, on 9 November, at Falim Sports Centre. The event, which was co-organised by JCI Kinta, JCI Teluk Intan, and JCI Taiping, brought together four JCI chapters from across Perak, marking the first collaborative event of its kind in recent years.

The event aimed to strengthen ties between JCI chapters in Perak while creating an opportunity for networking and camaraderie. It was also opened to non-members with a passion for badminton and the exchange drew an enthusiastic crowd, including players interested in friendly matches to hone their skills and enjoy the sport.

Organising Chairman Teh Cheah Soon (JCI Ipoh), shared his excitement about the event’s success, noting that it attracted 50 participants, which was more than anticipated.

“Managing an event of this scale was a learning experience,” Teh remarked. “I’m thrilled that both organisers and participants had a wonderful time. We look forward to hosting more events like this to foster connection and collaboration.”

The successful event would not have been possible without the support of representatives from the participating JCI chapters: Loong Kam Chuan (JCI Kinta), Jason Tong Yeh Zhuang (JCI Taiping), and Yeong Xia Lin (JCI Teluk Intan). Zheng extended his gratitude for their cooperation, which was instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of activities.
