IPOH – The long-neglected Tasek Store building is set to be transformed into a vibrant commercial hub that will attract both locals and tourists to Ipoh.

Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, shared that the revitalization project aims to breathe new life into the area and unlock its potential as a dynamic commercial centre.

“Pertubuhan Kebajikan A2Z will introduce elements of art, fashion, food, film, and music into the design of the building, hoping to capture the interest of the local community and visitors from beyond Ipoh,” he said.

He also mentioned that the project will position the area as a unique cultural and artistic tourism destination in Malaysia while creating job opportunities for the local community.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the project was signed by Dato’ Rumaizi on behalf of MBI and Pertubuhan Kebajikan A2Z, represented by its President, Lai Kam Sims. Also present were A2Z’s Advisor Datuk Eric Chong and Founder Jeff Lai.

The Tasek Store building is located on Lot PT 285773, a 6,770-square-meter piece of land owned by MBI. The building, which spans two levels and 460.05 square meters, is located in the Tasek Industrial Area in Perak, an area already home to various businesses and industries.
