Planting 1,500 Shade Trees to Green Ipoh City

IPOH: Efforts to increase greenery in Ipoh city continue with the collaboration of private companies.

Recently, a total of 1,500 shade trees were donated by Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn. Bhd. at Sultan Abdul Aziz Recreational Park.

This is part of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in partnership with the Ipoh City Council (MBI).

This program marks the continuation of its second year, where Steel Wire company also carried out donations and tree planting at the Menglembu Industrial Area last year, involving 200 shade trees.

Earlier, the launch of the program was officiated by the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming.

Also present were Canning Assemblyman, Jenny Choy; Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin; and Executive Director of Wei Dat Steel Wire, Kwan Boon Dat.

In his speech, Kor Ming urged more private companies to follow the example of Wei Dat Steel Wire in carrying out CSR programs for the welfare of Ipoh city.
