IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) will be putting up notices prohibiting street vending around the MBI Square before 20th December.
This will be followed by enforcement action starting from 21st December by MBI’s Enforcement and Safety Department.
According to a statement issued by MBI, all street vendors in the area have been informed about this matter.
It is understood that this decision was made after it was decided to relocate all vendors who previously operated car boot sales in front of the MBI building.
All vendors will be relocated to MBI Terrace in the near future.
Earlier, the media reported that 40 vendors had attended a consultation session with MBI recently.
The relocation is aimed at ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow in the area.
Previously, the public had complained about parking issues and severe congestion, as some parked indiscriminately, and vendors occupied public parking spaces.
