IPOH: Continuous heavy rainfall in October caused severe flooding in several villages in Gerik, damaging homes and disrupting the daily lives of the affected residents.
In response to the situation, the Perak branch of the Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia (SKM), in collaboration with the Office of the State Assemblyman for Temengor, took the initiative to ease the burden of flood victims.
The “Dari Mata Turun Ke Hati” program mobilized SKM Prihatin’s Ihsan Madani Squad to assist 30 families in Mukim Kerunai, Temengor near Gerik.
The assistance included essential items such as mattresses, pillows, blankets, and food baskets.
This program also highlighted SKM Perak’s concern for the community while fostering social connections.
The program launch was previously officiated by the Chairman of the State Committee for Women Development, Family, Welfare, Community Development, Entrepreneurship, and Cooperatives of Perak, Datuk Salbiah Mohamed.
Also present was the Director of SKM Perak, Zuhaini Romli.
This initiative demonstrates SKM’s commitment to fulfilling its social responsibility to the community.
