Sejahtera Card assistance benefits 19,012 low-income households

IPOH: A total of 1,002 new applications for the Sejahtera Silver Card assistance have been received, with 915 applications approved.

The highest number of applications came from the Kinta district, with 430 applications.

The Sejahtera Silver Card assistance is an initiative by the state government to help the B40 group, the poor, and the hardcore poor in purchasing daily essential needs.

As of February 2025, a total of 19,012 recipients have already benefited, with a target of 20,000 Heads of Household as recipients.

This assistance can be used at 291 registered panel stores and supermarkets, with an annual total value of RM1,200 or RM100 per month for each recipient.

Earlier, the Sejahtera Silver Card assistance handover ceremony to new recipients was officiated by the Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.

In his speech, he stated that the Perak government is committed to ensuring this program continues to benefit those who truly need it.

He added that the Sejahtera Silver Card assistance will continue as part of the state’s welfare agenda.

It is hoped that this effort will ease the financial burden of recipients and help them obtain basic necessities more easily.
